Joseph Pilates developed this body control method in Germany during the early part of the 20th century to rehabilitate injured dancers. Pilates helps develop strong control of the “core” muscles: abdominals, pelvic floor, diaphragm and lumbar muscles. Controlling these muscles allows a higher level of function and flexibility in the upper trunk, head and limbs. Many professional dancers, athletes, movie stars and active people praise the results of the Pilates exercise system.
Atlantis is proud to have Anne Miller Clark, a certified Pilates Instructor and professional dancer, affiliated with our center. Her impressive following and reputation for excellence can be attribute to her positive attitude gregarious personality , and attention to proper technique.
